From Engineer to Coach

A little bit about me, professionally I was trained in Engineering (mechanical and oil & gas). I loved a lot about an engineering education: dealing with complexity, understanding how things work and all the other fun stuff from thermodynamics to fluid mechanics and who can forget all the calculus! I worked in a variety of sectors from construction and heavy machinery to manufacturing and food processing as an engineer and transitioned into public service.

My first job in the public service relied heavily on my technical expertise as an engineer. The first shift was when I was asked the lead a team of engineers, this put me on a journey that challenged my identity and what success at work looked like.  From there, I transitioned to roles as diverse as executive advisor and chief of staff to executive director of corporate policy & planning to vice president of people & talent.

The key tool that I've been asked to bring to each of these diverse roles has been leadership. On that journey, I have embraced what is turning out to be a passion to walk alongside other leaders that may be going through transitions and use tools I have acquired along the way to unlock to powerful leader within.

Coaching Philosophy

Transforming Organizational Leadership focuses on leadership in 3 dimensions: leading self, leading others, and leading in your wider network. We believe in the capability and resourcefulness of our clients, supporting their growth through tailored processes and tools.

Why I coach?

I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to achieve great success with many of the teams that I've had the honour and pleasure of working with. I've also learned dificult lessons and taken some knocks! Nothing stimulates me professionally as much as seeing a team come together and achieve remarkable things.

I am deeply passionate about supporting leaders through personalized coaching sessions, whether it be to develop essential skills, enhance their communication, give feedback or foster a more positive work environment in some way. I genuinely believe that at this phase in my life and career this is what I want to most support in the world: "ordinary" leaders flourishing, thriving, doing extraordinary work with and through their teams.
